Hillary Rodham Clinton

New York Senator and 2008 presidential candidate Hillary Rodham Clinton is, of course, the wife of former president Bill Clinton.  The two met while at Yale Law School (left), where Hillary became a partner in Bill's dream of someday becoming president (and perhaps her own dream of becoming president, as well). The couple married in 1975, with Hillary keeping her maiden name.  Bill became governor of Arkansas in 1978, then lost re-election.  When he ran again in 1982, Hillary began using her husband's last name as a way of softening her image among traditional-minded Arkansans.  However, tax records show that her full legal name was still Hillary Rodham even as Bill ran for president in 1992. Following Bill's two terms as president, the couple took an idea from Bobby Kennedy's playbook and settled in heavily Democratic New York as a way of enhancing Hillary's chances of being elected to the U.S. Senate. Will Hillary fulfill her dream of becoming the first female president?  Will the Clinton's become the first couple to have both partners elected president?  Stay tuned!

Tim and Luke Russert

The world mourned the sudden loss of newsman Tim Russert, right, in June 2008 at Russert Familythe age of 58, but his genial-yet-firm journalistic approach may live on in his son, Luke.  In 2006, when he was still attending Boston College, Luke, left, started co-hosting the XM Satellite Radio show 60/20 Sports with political gadfly James Carville.  He was then tapped by his dad’s former network, NBC, to cover the 2008 presidential conventions from the perspective of youth issues.  According to the Associated Press, Russert “realizes some might say it was only his name that got him the job.  But he’s ready for the challenge and plans to work hard.”
